Two weeks after Human Rights lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome was abducted by suspected kidnappers, the activist, this morning ,regained his freedom.
Though, it cannot be ascertained, how much was paid as ransom. It is rumored that the sum of N100million was paid by his family and friends to secure his release.
There was jubilation in his Oviukwe community in Etsako East Local Government Council of Edo State following his release by his abductors. It was learnt that the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) was abandoned near Agbor at about 1am.
He was said to have left for Lagos to rejoin his family.
The Edo State Police Commissioner, Folunso Adebanjo has confirmed his release.
